Reset or unlock your RI student account password via Office 365

You are unable to access your RI Goto, or Office 365 account due to one of the following reasons: Use the following steps to access Office 365 Self-Service Password Reset (SSPR) function to reset your account.
  1. With Internet access, use a web browser (e.g. Internet Explorer, Chrome) to access the Office 365 Sign-in page at .
  2. Input your RI email address from the Sign-in page and click Next.
  3. The Sign-In page should refresh to show the RI banner. Click Forgot my password.
  4. Input the character from the captcha image or listen to the audio. Click Next to continue.
  5. You will need to select one of the 3 verification methods to receive a verification code for password reset.
    If you select “Text” or “Call my mobile phone”, enter your mobile number that matches the record.
    If you have recently change your mobile number, and have not updated into the Office 365 account profile, choose to receive the verification code via your alternate email.
  6. Input the verification code you received from your email or from your phone SMS and click Next.
  7. Key in your new password, confirm your new password and click Finish.
  8. You will see a verification that your password has been reset. You may have to wait a few minutes before you try to login with your new password at the RI Goto or the Office 365 sign-in page.
